I was in the local farm store picking up a transfer that I had shipped in and an HK45 called to me like a siren from the display case. The manager told me it had been in the back of the store for about five years and he had recently discovered it and a vp9 match, so I took pity and decided to adopt it and give it a warm, loving home. Truth be told it's exactly like one I shot before that a family member owns and I knew I had to have it, especially after a short search on line with only a used one found on GB for about the same money. This particular pistol has the v7 LEM trigger and I would never have considered that option had I not shot one first. It's a great trigger and I shoot it well. It's kind of like a single action every time unless a round doesn't go off and then you squeeze again for a double action trigger. I plan to use it as a mushroom picking gun since its 10 ounces lighter than a 1911 government model and holds three more rounds (gotta have some excuse to justify it). I'll move the 10mm to spring steelhead fishing duty. The HK45 can handle 45 super from what I've read, so it has some real capability if the local bears decide to mutate. It is a big gun though, for big hands, so if you have tiny, girl paws this pistol won't work for you. As a reminder from HK that they hate us, it was a penny under a grand making it the most expensive plastic pistol I own! Once I recover from my late gun buying spree I need to find a good kydex cross draw holster that'll work with a back pack and select a quality light that will coexist with it.
