Well, Ive owned a few dozen of various sorts of Russian, Belarusian , Hungarian, Yugo, and Chinese traditional style sidemount scopes over the years. I like them because they look legit but theyre really not the best optics by any stretch of the imagination. Saw these on TPO's on Atlantic after an old boss of mine called me to tell me they were made in the US ( I dont believe that ) and Atlantic had them for like $350. Given that with the war going on in Ukraine you cant find any PSO's or POSP's etc for decent pricing . I looked around a bit more and found them on Amazon for $170. Why not? Picked up a couple for my 308 Yugo pattern milled guns which use Russian style rails.
First off theyre a LITTLE different in the way they mount with allen screws on the pinch block instead of a flip lever and having owned many of them that is a welcome addition. Especially with major power calibers the recoil leaves the scope sitting next to you more than you'd believe. Other than that pretty much on par with the quality of most east block stuff which doesn't mean stupendous quality but does mean acceptable for the price. Markings are in English . Im assuming these are Chinese made ? Gotta be for the price but the Chinese build scopes too . They did a good job on these or at least as good as the Russians do which is a pretty low bar. The reticle is freakin' bright for a POSP. Like WAY brighter than usual. Tjis one is supposed to be an SVD style but the caliber isn't marked.
Taking to the range this week to zero it in.
