For those that are like me and want to know the condition of their barrel and have bought a borescope, you probably realized that anything over 6.5 starts having focus issues when you turn the scope to point up. I was trying to do a video on a barrel and it was perfectly focused when I put the scope into the barrel facing down but when I turned it to see the entire barrel it started to loose focus.
Easy solution to those that have found this issue as well:
Got a 2" long screw that measured .184 diameter and put it into the drill and ground it down under .300 for 30 cal and above.
drilled out the spacers that I got at Home Depot with a .199 drill bit. then slide the spacer onto the screw (I had a medium sized plastic drywall anchor that I cut for a spacer between the spacer and the nut ) With the drill in reverse so as not to undue the nut from the screw, I ran the drill and moved the spacer across the sandpaper until it was the correct measurement.
Now the borescope stays in focus while turning it to see everything in the rifle bore.
Oh, the little black cap was used to make little O rings to keep the spacers from moving on the borescope. The BIG spacers are going to be used for 12 gauge (smooth and rifled barrels)
