I purchased two airguns from Turbov6 and am very satisfied with the seller. However I could not give him a positive review, either because I am new, or because you site is too complex. I have over 20 years experience repairing classic airguns and firearms and own over 100 currently, but I haven't shared any of my knowledge, or rare guns on this site, because you require to much busy work that wastes time. Your safety measures and bureaucracy are strangling the site and driving off potential new members such as myself. Please simplify if you want new members. Currently it feels like you are a closed club shunning newbys.

OP sounds like a reasonably intelligent person. I'm pretty slow with cyber anything, yet I don't find using this site very demanding. Unlike WA Guns, where I was never able to figure out how to post pictures and had their own set of restrictions. The lack of activity there is in contrast to the vigor of NWFA.

Lately it was suggested that as a medium of information, NWFA is an obsolete forum. That sites like Reddit and Discord were more contemporary. I have no experience of Discord. But Reddit is less disciplined, broader based, and accuracy can be questionable. It is my supposition that active members on NWFA find some value in the rules that govern the site.

Tell me about it....

My feeling is that what is being labeled as 'safety measures and bureaucracy' are efforts to prevent trolls such as Discuss... from creating multiple accounts, asking divisive questions, and detracting from the intelligent discussion of firearms technology. Other forums have done likewise such as Arfcom.

Welcome to the forum.

What specifically are the problems / concerns that are the issues here.....?
I ask so I can give a more accurate answer / reply ....rather than give a guess....
Or , if needed , direct you to someone who can answer / help you out.

I don't get it? You joined last year in July and just now posted a first post? So , here I am, about as computer stoopid as a person can be, and I've never had a problem posting here? The box says "REPLY". I click on it and reply. I want to post a picture. I find the pic, copy, and paste to my post. I just don't see what the problem is? Some of the nicest people you could ever meet hang here. Some of the funniest, most intelligent, and or both, people too.

wow, what a response!
will one of you whom find this site easy to use please give Turbo v6 credit for being a gentleman to deal with for me please. I may seem obtuse, but I just prefer to spend my time at the work bench instead of the computer. I know not of forums, as I find them less interesting than the items the forums discuss, and have not explored them.

You will need to leave feedback, as only you can appropriately do so.

You just need to make 10 posts then you should be able to leave feedback and unlock (almost) everything.

You are welcomed here, I too get frustrated with computer things but I also don't agree with your vague remonstrations of this site.
I've not seen any evidence of a "newbie" as you call them, Even those initially frustrated with the process, not being welcomed here that didn't start out slinging an ax, nor any evidence of Joe, staff, or members unwillingness to help those less knowledgeable of things. Most everything in life requires some sort of learning curve, with success basically boiling down to desire. I had way more trouble learning our smart TV, than I had learning this site. But I had the desire to do so. and unlike the smart TV, I had many here willing to advise me.
As a suggestion for the future, Introducing yourself to your neighbor by criticizing them, doesn't lend well to beginning a good relationship.

I know not of forums
I this comment very enlightening.

You don't seem obtuse, you seem uninformed about what happens on forums that don't put "safety measures and bureaucracy" between new members and full access to all forum features. There are good reasons for the site being set up the way it is, and I'm grateful to be a little bit insulated from the disruptive a-holes that inevitably flock to completely unrestricted forums.

I'm sure the airgun enthusiasts here would be happy to have you if you choose to stick around. Just start sharing some of that repository of knowledge in your head and you'll be over the new member hurdles before you know it.

Don't want to sound like "that guy" who's "on the island and now wants to keep everyone else off" .... but ....

I joined about two years ago and have since bought and sold stuff, left feedback, received feedback, commented, started threads etc. etc. without issue. And I don't spend a lot of time here. And I do appreciate the safeguards which try to keep scammers and trolls off or at least make them expend more effort.

Oh, and I'm a grammar Nazi .... you had two typos in your message. ;-)

FWIW I would sooner sell all my guns and buy Glocks and 22 semi autos before I ever 'check out dark mode' . . . ah dang it! I just clicked off another box by adding a signature! :s0054:
