New owner of Tippmann M4 Elite. Also have a .22 Sparrow. But reading that suppressor/subsonic ammo might lead to pressure issues and failure to feed, etc.

Anyone have experience with a Tippmann and a can? What ammo are you using, and does it matter pre/post break-in period?

Never shot the tippman but all my rifles and pistols cycle fine with 22 subsonics. The only exceptions are aguila Colibre garbage, and cci quiet 710 fps. Cci quiet semi auto 835 fps, cci st vel, Norma tac-22, American eagle suppressor, Winchester suppressor, cci clean-22 subsonic and probably 12-15 others have all worked fine. I avoid Remington, Winchester (except their suppressor round), and aguila.

If it won't cycle with subs trying using some boron nitride lube. The cheapest way to get it is by buying ceratec (I suppose you could make your own from BN powder if you wanted also). My buckmark will even run with cci quiet 710 fps with BN lube. But as soon as it gets dirty (which is fast with that 710 fps stuff) it won't cycle anymore with the 710 fps. In other words, BN lube really works and makes things so slick they will cycle with weak rounds that it should never cycle with.

I have a Tippmann and use a Rugged Oculus 22 on it.

The ammo I use primarily with my Tippmann is Aguila 40gr subsonic 1025fps.

I get groupings of about 1/2" at 50yds out of it while also being quiet...

Good to know. I've got a bunch of Cci quiet and suppressor and I fear the velocity and pressure isn't enough to keep the action going.

You think it's ok to go with CCI Standard Velocity and a suppressor?

I have Tippman pistol experience. Runs flawlessly, quietly, and accurately with CCI SV suppressed. During the brace issue, it was run as a rifle as well. No issues.

In my experience I have not had a semi auto with or without a sliencer that would run with cci quiet (710fps) but they all run cci quiet semi auto (835fps) great. cci standard velocity, Winchester, Remington thunderbolt all have been just fine. Just louder.

I didn't even realize that line existed! Now I've got a pile of quiet/suppresor and pile of standard/mini mags.

Seems to be a sweet spot of fps for the semi autos. Thanks, each of you, for the notes and input.

Good info here, I've had great luck with the CCI 835fps ammo in everything I've tried it in other than a KelTec pistol but I won't hold that against the ammo.

Ruger 10/22 with volquartsen firefly bolt will do it. It's just a dedicated subsonic gun now.

That and my beretta 21a. Most people I have met had issues with it cycling subs. Mine just runs and I have no idea why.

My Ruger 10/22 has a tandemkross bolt and does fire subsonic with a suppressor consistently. Just intrigued by getting the suppressor on the Tippmann.

Had my Tippmann pistol out last week shooting suppressed and everything in the 1200 fps - 950 fps ran great, CCI quite semi auto 810 fps wouldn't run but ran great in my 10/22.

That's awesome info. Was having trouble getting my Romeo/juliet zeroed in so didn't even bother shooting suppressed.

Going to be trying a few different types of CCI with my Tippmann and 10/22 next week and will report back.
