remove the ejector rod, if possible. if the cylinder with tthe stuck case is lined up with the ejector rod hole, with a long rod gently tap stuck case out.
 
Sounds like the cylinder is twisted in the frame window and jammed up. You could try putting it in the freezer overnight, that might get the metal to contract enough to free things up
I would leave the hammer alone until I got the cylinder base pin back in
 
2 different parts cylinder PIN/ROD, EJECTOR ROD. i assume we are talking about single action here, am i wrong? can you look down the bore? is the stuck case lined up with the bore or with the ejector rod hole?
 
on my ruger you can see with a bright light inside 5 of the 6 cylinders and you can see the 6th cylinder through the bore with a bore light without taking the gun apart, so where is the stuck case?
