stop SB 633: Oregon's Monsanto Protection Act . GMO foods aren't the best and since this is a survival forum being healthy is the first step in being prepared. If you care enough,,, <broken link removed>

All the food you eat has been genetically modified over the thousands of years man has cultivated crops or put one bull with one cow.

real corn tastes like crap and real tomatoes make lousy tomato sauce salsa etc.

so we should allow a company to own the seed stocks for the state? requiring farmers to buy their seed from this company and not allow them to keep their own seed? or let this company continue to mark lab produced seeds as organic?

True, but there's a difference between genetically modifying things with selective breeding and genetically modifying them in the lab with gene splicing, especially when you start adding genes from other organisms that would never get there natuarally.

Your skewing what this bill does. Which is retain control over GMO with the state so places like Eugene can't create a mess by passing some silly ordinance on their own.

actually it makes it a crime to have GMO crops in your fields if you did not buy them for that year from the copywriter. this is going to be used against farmers who have never purchased from that company who have had their crops invaded by the plants. it is nearly impossible to prevent such plants from pollinating your crops when neighboring fields are using the GMO crops. its a good way to have the companies shut down long time generational farms which have been using heirloom seeds. this law would destroy any chance of having traditional heirloom crops.

I NEVER buy anything that says "organic" on it.

Why would I want shriveled up tasteless expensive produce?

GMO haters are the same group that thinks we didn't land on the moon and that 9/11 is a government conspiracy.

Show me where it makes anything a crime?

Only idiot Americans seem to be OK with being poisoned by GMOs. Many other countries ban them or are in the process of banning them. Our banker/corp/pharm owned FDA is looking out for you! - NOT.

Remember sock puppet Obummer promised GMO warnings and labels 'to protect American shoppers and our children' in his original campaign! Yeah, right. Just like he'd never tread on gun 'rights.'

Pending Russia National ban on GMOs. Russians=smart. Americans=stupid. Well not stupid, but deceived and deluded. Russia doesn't have a completely controlled corp media like we do. We are much more like the old USSR in that regard than they are ....

Really? You don't care that GMOs are turning test rats into pudding. Gigantic tumors growing out of their sides. That thousands of scientists are warning of the dangers and your government won't even label food warnings for GMO content?! All because the corporations determine what government does?

Even though the majority of foods - over 80% - now contain these cancer causing poisons?

That scientific studies have proven them hazardous to your health. That Montesanto is destroying small farms financially across the nation with lawsuits and bought off courts? You like that? "Fully agree" with GMO? Umm, that's great!

Perhaps a 14 year old can convince you otherwise LOL -geezus.

The argument that GMOs are necessary to feed people is complete BS. Americans throw 40% of their food in the trash. http://theeconomiccollapseblog.com/...in-the-united-states-is-thrown-in-the-garbage

There is still an ongoing investigation into Monsanto's unapproved GMO wheat that showed up on an Oregon farm earlier this year.

Additionally, last month GMO alfalfa was found in Washington state.

sure lets pass a law and let the Gov protect us it allways worked in the past. Remember when Hitler passed laws to protect people from one another, by the time it had all gone by it wasent other people that you needed protection from. Oh never forget the times that the US made laws to protect us from gun violence. This will result in nanney Gov telling you what kind of seed you can plant, does anyone really expect for them not to use this for there own ends. If you don't want to buy this junk plant your own, remember lots of nitrogen for corn and lots of manure for tomatos.

You are referring to hybridization, GME/ GMO foods are different. Round up resistant foods allow the farmers to drench your foods with round up and you eat the round up or the foods with a gene sequence that allows the plant to make its own BT toxins which you eat and is not healthy. on and on. Study up the differences. Real non Gmo GME corn tastes great and tomatoes taste great, I grow them

Yes, but almost everybody I talked to don't know the difference. It is really sad. With respect to everyone's views on the subject but without GM plants we would have had years in the US where over 15% of our corn crop would be wiped out. And if you know anything about what we use the majority of our corn for you would know that that is a very bad thing.

Too late the legislature approved of this thru the PERS Bill.
Betsy Johnson voted No but was in the minority.
Prepare your self for Soylent Green, coming to your favorite grocery chain soon. With Monsanto,
the money is flowing like wine and our wino legislaturers are drunk with Monsanto money.
