Springfield's popular XD pistol in .40 S&W. This is the 4" service model, olive drab frame with black slide.
The many great features of these pistols are: point-and-shoot ergonomics, hammer-forged barrels, easy no-tool disassembly, ambidextrous mag release, visual/tactile loaded chamber indicator, visual/tactile striker indicator and a 1911-style grip safety. All critical internal parts are forged/machined from billet.
