Springfield Garand Gunsmith in Salem

I am looking for someone in the Salem are that can go over my Garand and possibly refurbish so that I have no concerns firing the weapon, I also have a 1901A1 Springfield that I need the same work performed. I know there is a guy in California that can do this type of work, but I prefer not to ship.

Only gunsmith i know of in the area is Kevin, he's pretty decent but can be slow and expensive

Have you ever fired them, or any gun?
I do know that some low serial number Springfields are considered unsafe to fire. The information is easily found online.
