I just picked up a Smith & Wesson 586 and want to get a couple speed loaders for it. I have bought the HKS brand in the past, and they have worked fine. I can buy them on Amazon for $7.55ea. I also see Safariland makes some, as well as others, but they are double, or quadruple the price. Are the more expensive ones worth the price?

I have both HKS and 5 Star. I like the 5 Star much better.

I see the Safarilands on Amazon for around $9.
I like them way better than the old rattling HKS's.
They are super durable/reliable and fast.

I have the HKS, If I were doing competition I would look for something that held the shells tighter to make alignment with every hole in the cylinder a bit easier. For my purposes (hunting and recreation) they are just fine.

I use them with a 44Mag Super Redhawk

I also have one for my H&R 9-shot .22 top break.
