    Take your son to Cabela's. Try a Browning micro BPS or maybe a Browning micro lightning.

    There some nice shotguns with wood stock in the 300 range. Police k one up and cut it to fit. Don't worry about resale. You've son can one day pass it on to his some.

    Also, there is an A's New Mossberg 510 youth model for sale on this site now. Take a look.
    Sounds like the owner will deal a little.

    Just swap the stock with something that works for him!!!

    It's a great shotgun, trust me.
    I've owned nearly 6 at one time.

    Check out ATI Gunstocks for one - as I recall, that model will accept any stock that fits a Remington 870: http://www.atigunstocks.com/shotguns/remington
