Any functioning issues with the external extractor?

Negative on any external extractor issues. This is a 2006 model, I have a close friend who is a Colt armorer (not much difference in function, though I like the Kimber over the Colt);he gives it a clean bill of health.
I don't shoot it regularly, about 1500-2000 rounds through the barrel without any issues in the last 7 years. I keep it clean and well lubed, stays in the safe mostly. A buddy of mine bought his at the same time, same model; no issues at all. He has shot about 10,000 rounds through his. All that he does is replace springs every year at the tune of about $16.
