I am selling my Remington model 700 ADL with Leupold 3-9 VXII scope. The rifle is in great shape for its age serial # on the bolt matches the rifle, I am asking 550.00 or reasonable offer for the combo. I'm new to N/W Firearms, but I have an Ebay Acct with the same user name, you can see I have 100% positive feed back there.

are there any functional benefits to a pre 64 remy similar to a pre 64 model 70?

I've been told for some reason the action is more desirable, but I don't know the exact reason?

Not crapping on the thread - I was really curious. I am sure the finish is better but I was wondering about extractors and the what not.

No real mechanical benefits, but they do have that nice blued finish that's hard to come by, I think they cycle a little slicker because of it. Also the safety may be the old style that locks the bolt closed when the gun is on safe, some guys like that feature.

Just a question, is the scope really a VXII? Based on the age of the rifle it would likely be a VariX-II, but of course the scope could be much newer. I ask only because Leupold has made it a little confusing by having a VariX-II, VX-II and a VX-2 over the years.
