For your consideration is the S&W Model 49. This revolver is chambered in 38 special with a 2" barrel and a 5 shot cylinder. The condition is about 97%. Any flaws you see is the result of lighting not condition. It is a SA/DA and even
with the shrouded hammer cocks very easily. These were made from 1959 to 1996. Formerly known as The Bodyguard. This one left the factory in January of 1983. No box or docs. Extremely nice compact little revolver. You rarely see these come up for sale, especially in this condition.

The frame is high polish blue steel with very few handling marks. No finish loss on the high points, muzzle etc. A very faint turn line is visible and the bore is bright and shiny. It was in my EDC rotation and is a real pleasure to shoot.

Even though we were the first PD in Oregon to require the use of 9MM pistols for duty use a lot of the guys still carried wheel guns for off duty, me among them.
I rotated between a S&W Bodyguard and a S&W Centennial.

Conicidents abound. I spend seven years with Cleveland PD carrying a .357 Model 19. My BUG was a Smith 49 and my off duty weapon was a Smith Centennial. I next moved to Fla and spent seven years as a Fed Narc before moving into the intelligence community and eventually retiring. Both Smiths served me well for those years also. Fine little guns. They never failed me.

what is the bolt action rifle with the peep sight & leather strap that is pictured in your post?

That rifle is a Remington 513T, 22 cal target rifle. I had it for sale about a year ago, buyer backed out and nothing ever happened.
How it wound
in the series of the revolver photos as well . I don't know. The rifle was made in November 1941. Still has the original
Redfield peep sight and globe front sight as well as the magazine.
