I make sure to siphon every drop of gas out of a car before I sell it, wouldn't want the new owner to be able to use it. All kidding aside it is legal, I usually include some ammo with a sale or ask if any is included with a purchase. I never give any thoughts if that was legal because if for some stupid reason it isn't, I'll ignore it.

Unless the amount of ammo is large, a box or two to go along with the gun is a nice way to "sweeten the pot".
If the amount of ammo is large, you'll probably be best to sell most of it separately.

Perfectly fine.

As a personal preference only: I ask sellers to remove ammunition from magazines & baggie them, if such is included in a sale.

Edit: my thought being, removes a POTENTIAL for negligent discharge.

Factory made only, never reloads.
Indeed. Selling handloaded ammo or reloaded ammo requires a license. If you're selling factory remanufactured ammo from a licensed manufacturer, it's perfectly legal. Selling private party handloads as functional ammunition is not legal. Selling private party handloads as reloading components is legal. On a similar note, it's not necessarily smart to shoot mystery ammo without reliable load data no matter where it comes from. In regards to the op, legalities related to whether or not ammo can be sold with a gun, perfectly legal and normal practice, but you'll still have to transfer the gun through an ffl and go through all the legal hoops to get it.

Selling handloads for profit/business requires a license. Selling a few rounds with a firearm is not an issue.

I guess there's no profit involved when you just toss some ammo into the sale. Most of what I load would be hard to find any kind of livelihood in. Profit; negative once you add in equipment, time and labor expenses on a single stage press.

Got it, and agreed on all counts. Never even occurred to me to sell reloads 🤪
