Hey there,
Just picked up a Henry Big Boy in .357 and I'm looking to take advantage of the drilled scope mount holes in the receiver on the Gen2. I'd been holding out for a Marlin 1894 (and just barely missed BigBoy67's) until I saw the new Henry's were tapped. I plan to mount with Leupold with quick releases so that I can also upgrade to peep sites but I'm torn on which model scope to go with. I've got a 3-9x28 rimfire that seems like it would work, but in reading up it seems like the FXII 2.5-28 is the king for lever action scopes. The thing is it looks like the FXII is made specifically to mount in front of the receiver, not *on* the receiver per se. Does it really matter with regard to field of vision?
Anybody else have a scope on a lever action carbine that you wouldn't think twice about buying again?
Thanks!
