Thanks for posting that picture of the Shot tower.
I do not know just how old my bag of lead is...one of the bars of lead is marked :
Bar Lead St. Louis...the others are unmarked or marked with a different name.
Wow, that's quite the display...thank you for continuing the interest and sharing of our history.
Thank you....good to share what I have and know...otherwise history can get lost.

Andy

Thank you @Andy54Hawken for sharing history with those eager to learn. You are our Resident Historian Emeritus!!!!

Thank you for posting I always enjoy your post and photos, y'all have some amazing toys…
Thank you for your kind words...:D
All of that is yours?! Wow, quite the display. I fancy that brass pistol.
What is it?
Yep....all mine...lots of work in upkeep and research.
But fun to do .
That Brass pistol is a "Box Lock " pocket pistol from Belgium ...circa 1850 or thereabouts.
.36 caliber...with an inline percussion lock.
Concealed carry....back in the day.
No maker marked on the pistol.

@Andy54Hawken I am aware you are old but you are not 1800s years old. As well as my understanding, you are a combat vet, so thank you for enduring all that comes with it.

My question is, what part of the era of firearms you display brings out that passion? For me it 70s-80s era motorcycles. Living through the design and breakthroughs of the mid 80s bridged the gap to modern technologies. A 240hp new Ducati is less interesting than an 80hp classic.

I am so old....my Combat Infantryman's badge.....has a spear on it... :D
Thank you....and yes...I have 4 combat tours.

History..always loved it...some eras more than others.
The fur trade era ....long ...and full of excitement....boredom...advancement ....

The design of the firearms and items of the era.
The fact that I still hunt and shoot some of those firearms.
It is one thing to read about history or see it behind a glass case....it is something else all together to hold it in your hand.

The people of the era....the interactions...they way the fur trade worked.
They all have a story to tell....the items displayed help tell those stories.
learning those stories....sharing them with others....love that.

A man is never truly gone ....if his story is told.

@Andy54Hawken wouldn't need help making up an outdoorsman / frontiersman calendar he's got it covered himself ..... ;)

Great stuff as usual Andy. I always enjoy your displays. There's always something to learn and always something to drool over like that tiger stripe long gun. Man that thing is gorgeous.
You do us a service when you post these pics, there's so much to learn.

More of the "Doc" Brown Long Rifle.
.45 Caliber ....Green Mountain Barrel.
Original barrel was "Shot out"....Doc really loved this rifle.
Keeler flintlock.
Rifle was built in 1973...and named after Doc's wife.
Doc used this as his hunting rifle...and match shooting rifle.
Curly Maple stock.

I have won a few rifle shooting matches with this rifle and taken deer with it.
