Selling this vintage bolt action Savage Model 1920, with a low serial number of 1442. Manufacturing dates are: March 28, 1916 Dec 26 1916 June 17, 1919. Chambered in .250-3000

Clean bore and original checkered hardwood stock is in excellent shape without any gouges or imperfections (see images). Would make for an excellent hunting rifle or collectable.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I drive the i5 corridor for work often and can meet from Chehalis to Tacoma.

This is the FIRST American-made bolt-action sporting rifle sold in this country. A miniaturized Springfield, and styled after the Sedgley Springfield sporters. So well-constructed and finished that rumors said Savage lost money on every one they ever built.

Roy Chapman Andrews, world explorer, Curator of the New York Museum of Natural History (and the "true-life" inspiration for the Indiana Jones character) carried one of these guns to protect his expeditions into Mongolia where he made the first discovery of fossilized Dinosaur eggs.
