  1. I agree to the classified rules and terms of service
This was a "Revival" or commemorative 99 carbine or "saddle gun", with 20" barrel, straight grip and schnabel forearm. I believe Savage came out with this gun in the early 1980's. In the .250-3000 cartridge, it is probably the best Whitetail rig ever invented.

This is what they do in the field: 85 yards at a dead run.

I believe the correct model is 99A. These are popular as shooters because they have 1 in 10 twist barrel that can reliably stabilize 100 grain bullets. You might want to list it on a forum with more Savage lovers in order to get your best price. PM me if you want specific suggestions

The original 1 in 14 twist (present in all my .250 99's except this "revival" model) has presented no issues toward readily stabilizing 100gr bullets. Admittedly, I have not "pushed the envelope" by trying inordinately long 100gr bullets, such as the 100gr Ballistic Tip, or anything in the 120gr range.
Conventional flat-base 100gr bullets shot fine as frog's hair in all my guns when tried.

But I load 85-90gr bullets primarily, as I am fond of the .250's first AND last names: (3000fps). Incidentally, the 85gr Ballistic Tip (which killed this Whitetail and has never failed me with scores of big game animals) IS inordinately long for its weight, and may have more surface area contacting rifling than many 100gr projectiles.
