Your rifle appears to be an EG, not E model. It was made earlier than the E and is generally considered of higher value. Your gun is in really nice shape, someone is going to get a really nice Christmas present.

it was made in 1953, after searching a lot more I think you are right, a 99eg post war

Too bad it's been drilled and taped for the scope, and doesn't have the factory tang peep sight. Cuts the value in half as a collector but is still a good woods gun as is.
