Here is a not so refined list of savage 30-30 rifles that have sold in the last year or so. Personally I would start around $400 but be prepared to take less if he is in a hurry to sell.

If you bought that Hornet off the rack at H&K in the early 80's it might have been mine.
There weren't many of them around.
Your geography's right, but no cigar. Inherited mine from a cowboy buddy. If yours was '80's, it would be .224 bore. Biggest problem with Hornets is that factory ammo sucks mule peters, and the cartridge can be finicky to handload. I often wonder how many of them were dumped as a result. When the recipe is found, they are scary accurate.

I had a heavy barreled .222 at the time that would shoot circles around the Hornet.
Just could not love that Hornet.

I was guessin $300 and I'll stick with it. The blue blue book does not reflect the true market at times. Now if that was a Hornet it would be worth a bit more IMO.

The Savage 340 was also chambered in .222.
I had one for about two years and then I gave it to a (different) cowboy buddy who was foreman on a beef ranch in Prineville (when I visited and realized his pickup truck guns were either a .22 long rifle or a .270). He really liked the "gap filler" better than either of those for the work. I can't say it shot better than the hornet does, but it was CERTAINLY easier to find a good load for it.

Where's the Holy Grail (.225 Winchester)? I suspect this is another of a multitude of cases where the books don't even mention a gun that certainly exists.

Huge thank you for that info. I keep forgetting about GB since I never use them or any others. I prefer using NW or SW forums when possible, rarely sell and prefer local sales.

1 shotgun...12ga Remington 1100 Magnum

I have to price out some stuff for a friend to probably sell. I'm not really finding any values for this rifle.
Can anyone offer up an idea of the value..I know it depends on condition etc. etc. but I'm looking for some kind of idea.
The values I've seen are 250~600 and all across the board.
I'm also NOT finding this stock in any images... custom made?

Dan
