S&W 586 Reblue

I've got a 6" S&W 586 that I bought used about 25 years ago it's an excellent shooter but has a terrible flat blue job done buy the previous owner.
I'm considering sending it to the S&W Performance Center for their polish and blue treatment. Has anyone gone this route?

If you do, let us know how it turns out and what it set you back. I have a beautiful S&W 529 44Mag that deserves something like this as well.

S&W offers a high polish blue for $275 . It won't be quite as nice as the vintage bluing due to changes in allowed chemicals and such over the years, but it'll still look pretty good .

PS: As in all restorations the prep and polish is what makes the final result worth the effort .
