Russia takes down REvil hacking group at U.S. request - FSB

Russia has dismantled ransomware crime group REvil at the request of the United States in an operation in which it detained and charged the group's members, the FSB domestic intelligence service said on Friday.

This group has been responsible for most of the ransom ware attacks on US companies and government entities.

More likely they redirected REvil's efforts to Ukraine. If they extradite the group to the US I will have more reason to believe it's true.
