I've thought about turning my own, but that's like work and money and stuff.
 
The barrel extension is proprietary, so you have to re-use your existing one or from a donor rifle. If you need the tenon and shoulder specs, I can link to that.
 
I talked to Ruger last week about buying another barrel and extension. They are only interested in selling complete rifles and told me I should buy another rifle if I wanted to have shorter barrel.

Of course they are. Complete rifles make them a lot more money than bare barrels
