I don't have a Ruger but I do have a couple .380's. I always look for Euro spec ammo in small calibers. they are a little faster.
In my 32 cal guns SAAMI spec [ American ammo] has a 71 gr bullet going at 980 to 1005 fps. where Euro Spec has the same bullet going 1050 to 1080 fps. Maybe that will help. DR

Bought one for my sister last year and a box of Underwood hard cast. She was going to take classes but has yet to. So, it sits in a closet.

I have one on order, should be able to try it out in a few weeks. As a general rule you should try a handful of different HP brands and see which ones your gun agrees with.
