Don't wanna stick the beak where it doesn't belong, but..... the Ruger above has an exposed hammer so can be used single and/or double action as well as carried chambered (1 in the pipe) due to Rugers fine DC (De-Cocker) assembly. Had the P89's, P95's in 9mm and a few .45's for many years, great firearms at a greater price if you don't mind the testimony!

Thank -you, the ruger manf. discription just stated that SA/DA had a ribbed hammer and DA only had a smooth, I could not tell from the photo if it was ribbed.
