Do yourself and wallet a favor and look at the Marlin 60. Known for their accuracy. No mags to buy, decades of reliable function proven. Half the price of the 10/22 new, and a good used one can be had for $100. Mine has a factory laminated walnut stock. Didn't know that until I got it home for close inspection. Sold as used looks brand new. Not a nick on it very few rounds. Right at $200 out the door.

If you just need a solid basic 22lr, the Marlin does it very well. If you need to have a 10/22 for maximum opportunties for add on farkles, go ahead on, my friend.
