Joined NWF several years ago but was too busy with work to contribute much. Did some lurking just to see what folks were talking about. Retired from High Tech 3 years ago and basically went off the grid - no cell phone, e-mail, computers, etc. Fired my computer up about 6 months ago and found NWF again, figured I had time now contribute.
Hobbies include making AR's and 1911's from 80% lowers, powder coating the lowers and building several different calibers. Reload every caliber I shoot (except 22 :) ). Also like modifying 10/22's.

Wouldn't that mess up the tolerances?

Welcome back.
If I do a two coat coating, yes it really messes with the tolerances. Single coat actually works very well. I don't have any issues with trigger pin walkout. Safety is sometimes a little tight - nothing a fine grit sandpaper won't fix. Uppers fit nice and tight.
