Is this a later model, with the split lifter (where you don't have to hold the button down to load it )

No, this currently has the one piece lifter.
I do have a 2 piece lifter assembly out of a Browning A-5 that will work and I would sell it with the shotgun for an additional $75 (what I paid for it years ago) if you are interested.

This is the difference between the 1 piece and the 2 piece lifters
