I looked everywhere online for a couple years then gave up.Has anyone seen these in stock recently in Oregon ? I bought my first black powder gun and want to try it .
Thanks
LOL I was typing the same when you posted this!and give them a little pinch...
Spot on my friend! I was using #10's on my son's BP revolver and had to use a multi-tool to remove the spent caps. I started using #11's and do have some hiccups with the spent cap falling off and jamming the revolver, but that's a minor annoyance. I suppose if I was carrying it for self-defense, I would probably go with the #10's, but that is highly unlikely.LOL I was typing the same when you posted this!
Something else you can do is give #11 caps a slight 'squeeze' to get them to hold on the nipples.
It will fire no problem but occasionally a spent cap might fall off and cause a 'jam' between the hammer & cylinder but they can be 'dug' out fairly easily.
I've done this for years with a couple BP revolvers with minor issues such as this.
The 'upside' is you will never have a 'stuck' nipple that needs to be pried off which will occasionally happen with the # 10 caps.
Ditto this. When it DOES happen most of the time the cap falls out with no issues.I started using #11's and do have some hiccups with the spent cap falling off and jamming the revolver, but that's a minor annoyance.
