Saw this for sale for $1000. Price seems crazy but knife is maybe crazier :p

Interesting to say the least. Have to "guess" this was some home done project. Thing would sure make a pocket sag :D
According to the ad it was only for sale on Europe. Definitely looks like a factory produced knife with case. Anybody actually interested in it would have to do their due diligence but looks legit to my eye and from his description. I know for things like watches there are tons of versions that are not sold in the US and may be made in tiny runs.

Wow, hard to believe they would sell enough of something like that to mass produce it but hey, if people want it, someone will make it. :D

I've seen with some products they also make tiny runs for PR use to "show what they can do" and get coverage in magazines. I remember one bicycle for that purpose. Very few were made. It was a collaboration with a designer in wa state (his name escapes me at the moment but he's a famous designer).

I had never thought of that but it could very well be something along the lines of a sales sample. Kind of thing for sales people to take around and show options with the idea of course telling people they can make versions with only part of that in each knife. That Co has been around for a hell of a long time and I would guess anyone buying a large enough lot can have pretty much any configuration of "stuff" they want put in a knife. That thing would be good for showing people what they had to choose from.

Victorinox doesn't list the XXLT anymore, but they do list the XXL, which has 73 functions, across 64 tools. Sadly, it no longer comes with a nice presentation box, just a cardboard one.
