Hi, I just took delivery of a pair of ProMag magazines for my Sig P320. They don't rattle when empty, but they rattle very loudly when loaded. I can depress the last round somewhat, and the rattle goes away until I release pressure. It sounds like something flopping around when you turn the mag over. Anybody else seen rattling mags before? Ideas?

Pro mag pistol magazines are poor. I had one of their CZ75 magazines spontaneously disassemble while in the mag well. And I had the spring break in a Hi Power magazine.

Had the same problem with a taurus. The fix for me was simple. Don't know if the next owner used the same fix as I did... :s0092:

Well, I tend to agree that, generally speaking, Pro Mags usually suck. However, I my Beretta 21A the Pro Mags worked flawlessly. Unlike the Beretta and MecGar branded mags, which always had the top round hit the front of the mag and not chamber, even if only loading 7 in the 8 round mag.

Smith and Wesson's SD 9 and SD 40 mags rattle too, the OEM mags.

If you have an Sig P320 you really need to buy OEM mags. I have a P320 Compact. And I bought I new mags at 25 dollars each on sale at Gun Mag Wharehouse last year. I also recently bought two 21 and two 30 round OEM mags for it. It was almost 200 bucks worth of mags. That's just the way it is with brands like Sig and HK.

But, if you want some good, cheap mags for your Sig, try ETS mags. There is a break in procedure with them, but after that, the 3 15 rounders I bought work flawlessly. They have a lifetime warranty as well. I also have six of the red 30 rounders for my Sig.

Sometimes the ETS 30 rounders for my Sig and Glock won't hold open or feed the last round. But the 15 and 17 roundest that I have ( II have a Dozen for my Glock) have all functioned perfectly.

And here's the kicker, I bought them all on sale for between 7 and 10 dollars each. I wish ETS made 10 rounders for my Sig, but they don't. Followers and baseplates are cheap for those mags as well. I have my ETS mags color coded for my Glock. Red followers and retention plates I load with 124 gr 9MM NATO and yellow are 115 gr.

I would carry the ETS 15 and 17 round mags before I would carry Pro Mags for a centerfire gun.

Oh, by the way, when I got my Sig last year it originally came with 3 OEM 15 rounders for mags made by CheckMate. Those ones have black followers. The MecGars have Orange followers.

The CheckMates are a little shorter in distance from the front of the mag to the back inside. If you don;t clean them regularly, rounds can rub the front and hang up, depending on the OAL of the round.

Yeah, I know they do... but at least they feed. I've got to sail down to San Francisco to have my engine overhauled, and I wanted a couple of cheap 10 round mags in case they board me while I'm there. I'll probably chuck them overboard afterwards. I just didn't expect them to rattle.

Don't wiggle it, it might go off. And yeah, ProMags suck.
I'll agree ProMags suck, but at $9ea I got what I paid for. I don't agree that my P320 might self discharge however, having been through the process to get a product approved for the US military I know they: dropped them from a helicopter; froze them; set them on fire; and ran them over with a truck.... amongst other things. I'll take my chances, thank you

Cool story bro.

That's too bad that they were 10 rounders as ETS doesn't make those for the Sig. as long as they feed, I wouldn't worry about the rattling noise. Like I said, I've had S&W mags like that. I probably just means that you've a little extra room in the tube, front to back. PM me if you want to as I have an Sig accessory that I can't use with my current grip module. I was gonna pay it forward. So if you want to PM I will tell you about it. It;s free, just pay shipping.
