This is a rare bird, competitor with the T44, which was accepted by the US Army as the M14. This is a service test rifle, note the DoD cartouche on the left side of the butt stock. In the listing item description is a summary of the story behind this rifle.

Circa 1985, not long before they went out of business via bankruptcy, Harrington & Richardson had an asset realization sale of various type weapons that they'd kept from government contract production. Including M1 Rifles, M14 Rifles, and M16 Rifles. Possibly T48's but I'm not certain.
 
interesting that the selector is semi-only but there are clearly signs of it having at some point a FA selector as evidenced by the wear mark from the detent.

and what bovine excrement! $250 large for a semI-auto! Not even gold plated…pffft
