I have a 1-8 LPVO that is new. The adjustment ring is very tight as is the diopter.

Should I 'work them' back and forth to try and ease them up?

Any better ideas for me?

Thanks

And risk letting the magic smoke out!! 😲

OK, it's an electronics joke, but still I would leave screws alone
Not a joke on most all of my scopes there is a screw on the adjustment ring some are tight but not overly and figured you could loosen them but with recoil if it was too loose it could adjust itself . I now am thinking about adjusting one to see if any magic smoke comes out thanks a lot !

Nah, I'm just that kid with the 'tism and know a tremendous amount of useless stuff about almost everything

Yes. At least at first try to work them a little bit and see if they loosen up. They should. If not then contact manufacturer support and ask them. Or do both.

Are you sure it's not a plug to remove for installing an optional throw lever? Screwing down the magnification adjustment ring makes zero sense and to me would be an undesirable "feature".

Its an Arken Optic

After being worked over for the first dozen responses I just sat in my chair and worked it back and forth, back and forth. It has loosened up plus I went and put 50 rounds each through the rifle (9" 300 BO) suppressed and non-suppressed both. I'll do it again this weekend and should be fine. I would prefer that it be a little stiff over being a little soft.
I do appreciate all of the responses. Thanks
