16" nitride barrel, mid-length gas
FSB is pinned at the distance from the receiver that would normally be used for rifle-length gas, but is not connected to the gas tube. The actual gas system is mid-length and uses a low profile gas block under the clamshell handguard.
This setup provides a rifle-length sight radius and handuard mounting space (if you replace the clamshell) on a 16" barrel without the reliability problems of chopping down a barrel with rifle-length gas.
I bought it because I find dissipators interesting, but something shiny and new has caught my eye. Less than 20 rounds fired through this.
Comes with an unused no-logo Aero Precision phosphate BCG, bolt is MPI marked.
