I'm not sure I want to claim to know you after this haha. Seriously though this makes me be mindful when I'm cleaning mine this weekend after shooting.

You should find time to meet up and I can pull the barrel and we'll get it fixed up.
 
Unfortunately I think you are going to have to cut the charging handle to get that apart. If one side comes out you may be able to work the rest out by working the carrier back and forth.

Taking the barrel off won't solve the charging handle issue because the charging handle is fully captured inside a track in the upper receiver.

If the front of the charging handle is hooked over any part of the bolt carrier it will not come out even with the barrel removed.
