No denying Portland and the surrounding area is a bubblegum hole of a set of city's.

Wife and to be honest now my roots are to entrenched to move unfortunately.

Maybe someday but probably not.

Yet another case of "you get what you keep asking for". :( How much time and money did that one kook just cost those who still pay taxes there? Easy to see another loose kook who they will NOT keep locked up. No doubt in my mind a lot of other jurisdictions have found it FAR cheaper to load people like this on a bus with a one way ticket to places that welcome them. This one is another example of someone who may one day attack the wrong person and will be shot. Then of course the authorities will want to go after the person who was attacked and shot him. Like Joe Wife and I are too well locked into where we live. Thankfully we live where we don't have to deal with this at our home at least. I do feel for those who have this kind of scum roaming their neighborhoods or those with kids who may run into this. 🤬

The people who voted in these leaders need to reap what they have sown. And they are too dumb to realize they messed up.
They will continue to vote them in and never solve the problems they have created.

"The person was reported to be armed with a knife and a hatchet, and ran into the store after being confronted by a security officer."

I'm collecting signatures for a ballot initiative to officially rename Portland, OR to CrazyTown.

Well, I have voted the right way this last time, and the time bere. And the time before that.

My next door neighbor, who is a lefty, is finally starting to wake up.

The dat before yesterday he comes up to me and says he's thinking about getting a gun, due to his fear of this guy that lives behind the fences of our backyards.

He asked if I had seen the back door neighbor beating his girlfriend. I told him that I had, several times in fact. The police have been called, numerous times, and the guy always seems to be 5 minutes ahead of the police. He is always gone by the time the cops show up.

He says he's gonna get a gun, and if the guy jumps the fence, he's gonna "kill him".

I told him that sho to kill is gonna land him in prison. Shooting to stop a threat to him, or the lives of his family members, is the way. If the guy dies of his injuries, well that's too bad. He said his son-in-law has guns and is gonna teach him how to shoot. I offered to take him as well.

But we haven't talked politics or any of that. But you know the type. Works for the school district. Wife is a Medical Assistant. I used to be the same way when I was younger. I didn't want anything to do with guns, until I had a guy that was trying to kill me multiple times, over a four month period.

When the a hole that was stalking me saw the 12 gauge barrel hat I shoved in his face, he ran off and I never heard from him again. However, several years later, I got a fist from a couple of FBI agents. They were asking about him. He was wanted for four murders in CA.

A few years after that, we were informed that they found the guy;s body behind a dumpster out side of a bar, in CA. His head had been bashed in with a bat.

When we talk next, I will mention this forum, and I will see if he wants to go to the range with me.

Be a good neighbor :). Just don't be surprised if he doesn't take to it right away. I've seen a lot of educators be unable to take that last logical step.

A gun is bigger than a gun to some folks minds. I've taken a lot of people shooting over time. Teachers for some reason, can get the shakes. It's such a mental hurdle.

You want me to pick on him a bit?

You might want to be careful with any 'interactions' you have with him with regard to gun ownership.

If his ONLY belief is that of 'cause and effect' and his intent is that of 'killing someone', well he might be a few fries short of a 'happy meal'.

Yeah, I think he probably gets the apple slices in his Happy Meal. But seriously, I think he's afraid as well as angry. The guy behind the fence is a black guy with dreads that wears gang colors.

I saw him belt his girlfriend in the face with a closed fist. Then, five other neighbors, all women, tried to pull him off of her. The police showed up 10 minutes later, and by that time, he was gone.

She keeps letting him come back…

He's actually a Custodian. He gets almost the whole summer off though.
