I have not heard of this web page before ...

"OPINION: This article contains commentary which reflects the author's opinion
Reminder: The purpose of the articles that you will find on this website, are to EDUCATE, not to disinform or grow hate and anger!"

That firearm is not going to do you any good in the trunk.
Exactly - IF the guy with the sword had taken it to the next step the gun in the trunk would have not helped the 'guy in flannel' at all.

The article is pro 2A and thats great but these parts:

The Victim's Response Shows Why The Second Amendment Saves Lives

the story however has a different ending after the victim went into his trunk to exercise his second amendment rights!

I don't see where the 'Victim's response' saved any lives or getting his gun after the fact shows it has a 'different ending'. The 'ending' was due to guy being dang lucky.

Wow, that's crazy. Thanks for posting! Quick synopsis for those who don't click on links:
  • Guy waving a katana is up in another guy's face. They are standing by the unarmed guy's vehicle, with the driver's door open.
  • Guy waving katana holds back the weapon like he's going to slash the unarmed guy.
  • Unarmed guy stands impassively and stares katana guy down.
  • Katana guy chickens out and walks away.
  • Cameraman says "beat his a**"
  • Unarmed guy goes to trunk, retrieves unloaded rifle (looks like an AR), and slaps a mag in.
  • Camera man goes (oh s***) and the video ends.
I wonder how that ended.

Moral of the story - if you're going to have a firearm in your vehicle, get your concealed handgun permit so you can legally carry it on your person. He's lucky the idiot with the katana walked away and gave him space enough to retrieve the rifle. Had the katana guy been more bloody-minded the unarmed guy might not be breathing.

Katana guy was a wanker that clearly didn't know how to use the sword, but you don't have to be skillful to cause harm. Since the katana guy walked away he may have been posturing rather than having real intent to cause harm (or he saw that he was on camera and thought better of it), but that's irrelevant to the unarmed guy. Brandishing a weapon and implying you're going to use it would make any reasonable person assume the intent is there. From watching the video I don't know who wouldn't call that a threat of serious bodily harm or death. I think he probably would have been justified in shooting if he had a pistol on his person instead of the rifle in the trunk.

And yeah, the article was poorly written. After the first 2 paragraphs I skipped the rest and just watched the video. Figured if the author can't write worth a damn, it's probably better to just draw my own conclusions. From what the video shows I would call this more of an example of "should have had a gun handy but didn't" rather than a glowing case study of how the 2A helps protect people.

If he didn't have a CPL, Multnomah County and Portland both have laws regarding loaded magazines in public.

Every time I see young men bowing up at each other .
Lol

OrrrOrrrOrrr!!!!

Well if they were trying to show a great video on how to not do things? Mistake 1, get out of the vehicle to confront some kook. Mistake 2 puff your chest up while kook waves weapon at you. Mistake 3 having your weapon you think is going to defend you in your trunk. Granted the one he choose would no be legal if he had it loaded. This is why he should have one he can keep loaded. Given his idea of getting out of his vehicle to confront some kook though? Not sure he really needs a weapon as much as he needs some common sense. LOT of kooks out there. Next one may not hesitate if he does this again.

That "Katana" needs a little viagra.
I'm glad you put that in quotation marks. Personally, I'd have dispensed with trunk gun, b!tched slapped him, wrapped his wannabe ninja sword around his scrawny little neck and threw his stupid azz in the bed of his POS truck.

:s0111:

You have to be a 'tard to get out of the vehicle with an intact block and running gear. It's all about the nut holding the steering wheel to the seat.
