I acquired this back in the late '80s, when they were still legal to import
built in Peoples Factory 386
as you know, the receivers and barrels on these early PolyTecs were thicker than the European AK and it has a spring loaded firing pin
it's gone through several rebuilds and yesterday I installed a TWS dogleg rail mount - wish I had one of these 30 years ago
most of the hardware came from Mako Group, from Israel
the front grip is from a Galil, sanded down for a tight fit on the AKS
the shoulder stock is a Mako Group slider with internal recoil spring
muzzle brake is an Israeli made A2 for a Galil
scope is just temp until my backordered Vortex 1x4 comes in
all the original hardware is retained if I ever want to restore it to original, but I enjoy it the way it is
