Any idea what qualifies it as a Gen 2? Great looking pistol.
Key Differences Between Gen 1 and Gen 2 P365 AXG Legion:
  • Trigger Guard & Dust Cover: The Gen 2 has a wider trigger guard (
    0.550′′
    ) compared to Gen 1 (
    0.500′′
). The transition from the dust cover to the trigger guard on the Gen 2 is more curved (3 distinct surfaces) compared to the straighter cut on the Gen 1.
  • Rail and Frame Dimensions: The Gen 2 is approximately
    0.050′′
    to
    0.060′′
shorter from the top of the slide to the rail, which affects retention in molded holsters.
  • Frame Rail Flat: The Gen 1 has a larger flat area on the bottom of the Picatinny rail.
  • Identification: The easiest way to tell them apart is looking at the area where the frame meets the rail: Gen 1 has a straight cut, while Gen 2 has a subtle upward scallop/curve.
  • Holster Compatibility: Because of the, wider trigger guard and lower rail, Gen 1 holsters may be too tight, while Gen 2 holsters may be too loose for a Gen 1 model.
  • Model Numbers: Some reports suggest that newer models with the updated frame end in "08," while original models end in "05".
