This early 60's Blackhawk is in great condition, blued with a 6 1/2 inch barrel, original wood grips. Finish is in great shape, nice and dark with one or two small marks. Rear sight is fully adjustable. This is a pre-conversion gun, as not been sent to Ruger.

Comes with soft case. Plinking ammo will be included (will update soon :)

-More photos available upon request.
-FTF in Portland area, bill of sale.

Unforeseen travel expenses require sale :(

Can you explain what a "pre conversion" gun is? Is this something Ruger does for safety? Thanks

At some point ruger added a transfer bar. Before the transfer bar, you were only supposed to carry the revolver with five rounds in it with an empty chamber over the firing pin. This was due to the fact that if you accidentally hit the hammer too hard the gun would accidentally go off and take one of your toes with it.

Yes, you can send a "3 screw" Blackhawk to Ruger for a conversion to make the gun safe to carry with all 6 chambers loaded. As bigboy67 says the newer ones have a transfer bar to safely do this. "Old model", or "3 screw" Blackhawks were made until 1973, after that, 1974 to current day, the New Model Blackhawk and Super Blackhawk all have the transfer bar safety.

I have sent PM's, Emails, and even tried Smoke signals for more then a week a now. NO Response. Not sure if the travel he speaks of is happening now, or this tread has been abandoned.
