Looks fun but stuff like that seems lost on me in semi-auto.

Aren't belts supposed to be a 2 man team thing anyway? Does anyone have a belt gun? Thought those hang up often…

I can't speak from experience, but I might assume that with a bit of trigger work, that a good amount of lead could be sent downrange with semi-auto, maybe even more accurately than with full auto. Whether that would be effective or not probably depends on the scenario, but I wouldn't mind having a number of semi-auto M240 emplacements with plenty of ammo in well thought out positions and manned by skilled/cool headed personnel.

A belt fed LMG has advantages over a infantry rifle in the same caliber; the barrel and action are made to be used in a higher rate of fire for a longer period of time and there would be fewer interruptions to reload.

Besides, it would be a whole lot of fun!

That said, at this point in time, I just can't justify the expense.
