FWIW for me I put semi automatics that are not tx-22 in the "very skeptical of reliability" category, vs

tx-22 (made in USA) and S&W clone revolvers in the "likely to be reliable" category.

However this is based largely on research as I haven't owned Fe a Taurus 9mm semi auto.

I own a Taurus 627 (s&w clone 627 plus clone but ported barrel) and it is smooth as butter in action and trigger is excellent.

As I understand it the same company owned both s&w and Taurus in the early 70's and they shared info freely and that's when the clone revolvers were designed. Later in the 70's Taurus was sold and after that the semi autos were designed. I'm no expert and only own the one Taurus, no Rossi. Based on my experience I wouldn't hesitate to buy a s&w clone if I wanted one. Based on reports I would buy a tx22 but I have too many 22s already. I'm skeptical of everything else.
