Yesterday I picked up a new Prodigy from my home based ffl. It wasn't cheap but it seems to be a good quality. It was $1,350 shipped to my FFL out the door plus $20 for him.
I have a personal rule that I have to shoot any new gun within 24 hours of picking it up so yesterday afternoon less than 12 hours after I picked it up I ran 50 rounds through it. So for me I like to test a new gun with different ammo. I know some of y'all won't agree with this but I am of the philosophy that if she won't eat Steel she don't deserve brass. I had bought a box of Magtech steel case 115 FMJ last week in preparation for this test. First mag was 17 rounds. The next mag was brass cased fmj115 Magtech. Then I shot another mag of various hollow points and high-end loads I have. Some Sig, Hornady and no name Hollow points. On each of the stock mags I encountered a fail to feed for the first time using them. Not Unusual for new mags and a tap sent the slide into full battery. But the gun ate everything perfectly. It was accurate and very soft shooting.
Very happy with this purchase at this point. Now it's time to fix some of the factory issues. I'd like to hear if anybody has recommendations on what replacement slide stop you like. The stock one is just too small of a ledge. I like that it's recessed into the frame but I need to get one with a bigger ledge. Also, I would really like to replace the two piece guide rod. Let me know your thoughts

Get the one piece guide rod from Atlas. Allows you to capture the spring for removal/install but also change the spring out when you like. I think it cost me $70 or so a number of years back

Thanks for the info. Mine has the CHUNK PORT, Seems like most tool less aren't specd for chunk ports, but I'll check it out.
I don't know why that would matter. It's just a big hole in the top of your barrel, doesn't make the slide longer and the guide rod is below the barrel, so if you can explain why it wouldn't work, I'd be interested to understand

Like you i don't know why it would matter.i looked it up last night and there's no mention of the chunk port.
I'll reach out to them today and see what they say.

Thanks for the links. The guide rod doesn't quite fit what I'm looking for. Since I have the coyote with black accents I like to keep that guide rod black.

Right now I like the atlas tool list system. Just that they're out of stock otherwise I'd grab one.
