Hello! Wanted to complete my new member stuff after looking around on here a bit more and seeing some pretty good deals and some decent folk in the community so I thought it'd be best to complete my new member task and make myself a little more comfortable. Also forgive me in advance I'm not terribly used to doing this kind of thing.

I'm a 22 year old working a half decent minimum wage job in the Florida boonies and making art in the little free time I have. Given my age I'm rather new to firearms in general in regards to ownership and buying them, even though the history and the art of them as machines has always been a big passion of mine ever since I first handled my great grandpa's Finnish Mosin when I was too young to even carry the whole thing in two arms.

Given my current state of employment, the lack of a little more disposable income meant firearm collection was mostly out of the question. This was, until the aforementioned Finnish Mosin (Tikka M27) of my great grandfather's had fallen into my hands after his unfortunate passing earlier this year, reigniting a good bit of my passion for firearms.

Since then I've added 4 new guns to my collection: an 1878 Swiss Vetterli, an 1878 Springfield Trapdoor, an M91/28 Carcano TS, and a Vz52 pistol. At the moment I want to get my hands on a slightly more practical handgun and perhaps one more milsurp/antique one before calming down on the collection for a bit since I caught the bug.

I have a huge passion for guns with unique mechanics, silhouettes, and calibers; (practicality be damned) and someday I hope to make my passion for firearms and the art of them a little more than a hobby, but at the moment I'm still working to enter a nearby trade school.

Welcome Aboard. Glad you found the forum.

This is the best place to hang out on the internet.

I know that you're not in the Oregon/ Washington area but we've found the best way to meet the community and learn where and how to use public lands responsibly is through grass roots involvement.

If there isn't a local group that advocates for responsible stewardship of public lands, check out Trash No Land.

welcome to a really great group !! no scammers here the admins really know their stuff and patrol with gusto . might I suggest and kind of .22 pistol , revolvers are great for newbs and way more affordable to shoot than centerfire guns.
again.........WELCOME

Welcome. Nice intro.

Re. inheritance, it's a tough way to get guns but you might as well take the good with the bad. Think of your grandpa every time you pull the trigger on the Mosin and make it a celebration.
