I get the local part but I highly doubt $2k is a gouge. The sl8 won't sell super great because nobody really wanted it. Look at how much the sp5/sp5k were prior to market gouging and $2k is cheap for anything hk that's not a handgun

They have been showing up in the $1500-$1700 price range if you look around so yes $2k is a bit of a gouge.
