There 'is' this thing called Google.

I did a Google search for payments on Northwest and AI said
" secure electronic methods for shipped items. PayPal/Venmo are generally avoided due to anti-gun policies. Zelle or other bank to bank methods." I was just wondering what the most common one was for private distance sales. Im used to PayPal. Not so much others.

Avoid private distance sales. Until you develop a positive feedback history & deal only with other folks with a positive feedback history.

Plus Canada has restrictive import laws/regulations/rules. For even just parts...

Thanks 1401 Just trying to get a baseline for expectations for myself. Those are good points.
For the "ordinary" we can't just take a credit card. So that leaves it wide open. PayPal is a risk both ways. Things like Venmo same. Examples of problems are enough that I will not be using them. One safe way to send is Postal Money Order. Now the risk is if you send this, the buyer cashes it, then sends you something not even close to what you thought you were buying? Now what? You are out of luck. So if you wish to buy consider feedback. Is there some, is it good? Then the money. How much are you willing to risk for the "deal"? There sadly is no easy solution here. If you find something you like and meeting the person is too hard? See what they are going to do and then deicide from there if the deal works for both of you. Wish there was an easier way but I have yet to see one. :(

I think the most important thing to do is do your best to vet the person you're purchasing from, ask a lot of questions, perhaps they'd be willing to timestamp it for you.
