The way the stock is cut and the checkering looks like it was done in maybe the late '60's, maybe early '70,s. They made some beautiful rifles in that era. It's getting hard even to find wood that nice anymore.

honestly the stock is what sold me on the gun.. but the blueing is very deep and dark .. whoever did this did a good job in my opinion.
