Kyra is a part German shepherd, part husky, part malamute, part some type of hound dog who, whenever we're out for a walk, will generally catch sent of something...stalk up to an area...and then jump up and pounce downward like an arctic fox (if you haven't seen those guys hunt, google it).

Up until now, I figured she was just messing around.

Not anymore. Yesterday, she got herself a...shrew/mole.

Not much better than the sh!t eating grin of a dog who finally caught something :D.

You'd have to ask my toddler. I'm just the guy that picks up her poop.

The neighbor's dog used to come over and hunt mice/moles/gophers/etc., and that kept the moles in control. But that same dog would get in trouble when it would attack other neighborhood dogs. So they only took it out on a leash. Then she got too old and died a couple of weeks ago.
