Fiest off I love music and have a fairly wide taste in what I like and listen to music daily.

Today at the gun club someone Id never seen before had a speaker playing music. Older guy and younger guy and I could hear their convo clearly thru my E headphones Older guy says "can you play music here".
Younger guys says "Nothing in the rule book about it" so I assume new members.
And he proceeds to play music.

For me not the place.

Thoughts?

I'm sure your taste in music is impeccable.

It'sa gun club. You're making more noise than their music box is

Taken from TCGC's ruleBook:

  • Be courteous to all members and guests at all times. No music, loud talking, horseplay, or other behavior that is disturbing to others will be allowed.

WTAF kind of music would you play whilst shooting?

Flight of the Valkyrie's?

The Green Berets?

Sgt, McKenzie?

$10 says there's nothing in the rule book that specifically prohibits shooting with no pants on either.... so is THAT acceptable too?

Lawyers , Guns and Money....
Roland The Headless Thompson Gunner...

Both by Warren Zevon...
Are two of my favorite "gun songs"

However...
Just as post #4 said....
Paying attention and not being distracted is 100% in the rules when shooting.
The above is important both for safety...and good shooting.
So ...nope....no music.

If I'm solo & have a bay, or the entire range to myself I'll Bluetooth tunes into my Electronic Earmuffs. Lower/background, as in can still hear vehicles driving in on the gravel. Can kill the tunes with 1 press on the ears too.

If sharing a bay/range, nope. No tunes.

When shooting with family/friends, nope. No tunes.

Playing tunes over speakers is just a bad idea, for many reasons. Safety first, among others.

I get that especially at a club like Albany. My club is 12 to 15 lanes so lots of cooperation is needed for safety.
